A
journey through the exhibition*
unfolds into the following series of nine (9) consecutive
rooms**:
1- THE ORIGIN
The first space reveals the
simplicity and enigmatic power of the primary colors as
fundamental statements (a tribute to Rotchenko), as well as the
complex structure of the big chart
REPRESENTATIO UNIVERSALIS with
its three principal sections (Politics,
Identity, Science) and multiple subdivisions and categories.
2- THE EVOLUTION
The second space will exhibit four
graphics illustrating a summary of the history of the universe,
from the Big Bang to the present, with some perspective
into the future.
3- THE GALLERY
The third space offers a strong
reminder of the extraordinary power of painting in its most
fundamental characteristics: color, form, texture. Red, blue and
yellow will be worked on three canvases in order to expose the
dialectic contradiction between chaos and structure, creating
harmonious living objects. The three paintings will affirm with
evidence what painting and only painting can do.
4-
SAVE THE WORLD
This
installation will show, in different format and medium, a
variety of statistics and global data concerning humankind
and the future of our planet. The installation will also exhibit
some of the many propositions and projects of all kind currently
discussed and implemented throughout the world with a conscious
decision of working toward a better future for humanity.
The
ensemble will be presented and assembled as a mix of high and
low technology within the context of global and local issues.
5-
THE METAMORPHOSE
The fifth space will show a
gigantic and mysterious sphere, lit in the gloom of a
"word-uttering" room. It will be surrounded by twelve sculptures
covered with pure white glitter, giving the appearance of
precious artifacts that glow in the dark - like snow in the
night.
6-
THE AGREEMENT
The sixth space will contain a
plasma monitor that lies flat on the floor, facing up, with
nternational news playing in real time, without sound. A blue
ladder will
also
be placed flat on the floor few
feet apart from the monitor. (In mythology, the ladder is often
used as a metaphor for reaching dreams, or building bridges
between cultures and humans). On the wall, a sign will hang on
the wall that read: //eye_luv-you.
7- THE COMMUNICATION CENTER
The seven space will have a table
with a laptop computers connected to the Website
FRACTALUTOPIA.COM
The Website will be projected on the wall to magnify the
interactive process. The public will be invited to browse and
exchange ideas about the exhibition and series of related
themes. Links to email addresses and blogs will allow the
participants to send messages or feedback to the project.
8- THE YELLOW SANCTUARY ROOM
After
viewers
experienced installations one through seven,
having undergone challenging and intense stimulation of the
senses and intellect,
they
will now enter a peaceful, calm and meditative space. It will
allow viewers to feel the incommensurable and incomprehensible
reality of the infinity of space and of eternity of time - and
communicate awareness concerning these two realities of
infinity and eternity.
9- CRITIQUE OF THE JUDGMENT
The
final room
will be painted in black and
covered with "eyes" (achieved through photographic images)
randomly scattered over the walls. The eyes will look at the
viewer, who will be looking into a large mirror: a direct
reminder of the subjectivity of all perspective.
